1) How do I install iGuideStocks?
First of all download the latest version of the software
1) When you click on run.bat registration window will open for the very first time. Which will look like this
2) Please enter all the values in the registration form.
Note: you can register only one time at one. You can use any of your email-id or any name as username, which should not exist in our database. For every computer you have to provide a different id for registration.
3) if you are behind a proxy then setup your proxy by clicking proxy button proxy setup screen looks like this
Enter all the details and click submit button.
4) Now after filling all entries click add button and if you are successfully registered you will get installation screen. Note: please remember your email-id will work as your user id for this software on this computer.

6) Click on install button.
Note: Installation process will take around 30 minutes as it downloads data of all NSE listed securities. If you close process in between then next time it will download only remaining files. The installation progress bar will progress as data downloads.
After completion of installation process, Please restart the software
7) After restart you will be able to watch your graphs
Note: iguidestocks can be used offline. You need not require always to be connected to internet. Software automatically authenticates and updates your expiry timestamp
2) When I run your software I get Java not found error, what could be the problem?
You do not have java installed on your computer. Please visit sun's website to install Java

Note: Our software works best with JRE 1.5. Please do not install JDK 1.6 as we saw that this version is giving some problem when we tried our software. After installation of JRE 1.5 now double click on run.bat file
3) My software has expired how can I continue to use the software?
If your software has expired then please e-mail us at iguidestocks@gmail.com. We will update your expiry time stamp. Once you get confirmation from us then connect to the internet at time of starting the software again. Software will automatically connect update the timestamp for you.
4) How is end of day data updated?
When you start the software and connected to internet then EOD data is automatically updated in the background. We would recommend not closing the software for at least 5 minute as during this time our background process is updating EOD data. Once EOD day data is updated then you will see latest data/graph is available for all the stocks. You will need to reopen same graph to get latest data (Meaning selecting some other graph and then selecting same graph again)
5) How can I update my result?
To update result go to main menu -> download -> update result. A back groud process will start and it will update all results.
6) I am interested in buying your product, How can I proceed?
To buy our product please pay us and then mail us about your payment and the period for which you have subscribed with your user id. We will update your expiry time stamp. If you are using it first time then first register it using our tool and send your user id.
7) How can I draw a drawing component, move, and resize it?
It is very easy. The first thing is you can draw drawing component only when your graph is in a single panel. Now click on drawing component’s icon that you want to draw. For lines and arrows you have to click your mouse where you want to place it. To move your component click inside that component and that component will be selected (all corner will have red rectangle). Now press left mouse button and move mouse and release it. Your component will be placed wherever you want.
Placing the component: Select component, click left mouse button and move mouse to put component anywhere on the pane Resize component: Select and click right mouse button and then move mouse to resize component(Note: you can not resize line and arrow components) Delete a component: Select and press delete button to delete a component.
8) Why my drawing components moves a little bit even after I place them and then click mouse some other place for first time?
All drawing component were drawn using date and price parameter. So when you place a component and then click any other place then that component tries to move to nearest date and price. It happens only first at the first click after placing the component.
9) What is Formula Builder and why I am seeing two icons for Formula Builder?
You can do conditional searching using Formula Builder. There are two formula builders, one for searching stock which fits in the criteria and another one is for finding entry/exit points of a stock.
Using Formula Builder you can write any type of conditional statement. The major difference between Formula Builder for Stock Screening and Formula Builder for Back Testing is that in Stock Screening you can add financial parameter like EPS, Net Sales, Total Income , Interest etc. which are not for Back Testing.
Using Formula Builder you can filter out stocks based on technical and financial parameters. For example RSI[14;0] < 30 and EPS[0] > EPS[-4] will result you all stocks whose RSI is less than 30 and whose current quarter EPS is greater than 1, year before quarterly EPS. Your formula can be as big or complex as want but it should be technically correct as our current version does not check semantics of formula
Once formula is created you can test it by clicking apply icon.

10) What is Live Market Dashboard?
Live market Dashboard shows live data for top 50 Nifty stocks. You can see the Live Market Dashboard updating continuously. You can also watch intraday graph and last 20 quotes of a selected stock. To know more about it please visit Live market dashboard help section.
11) What is MMA indicator and how it is different than other?
iGuideStocks team developed MMA indicator. It is also a Moving Average Indicator but it includes volume while calculating price. Due to volume and price the formula generates actual average value of stock price paid by investor.
12) What is Market Snapshot?
Using market snapshot user can analyze what happened in market on last trading day. User can filter stocks based on % change by up/down. All results are sorted by % change.
13) How can I create query based on financial data?
You have to launch Formula Builder screen to create query based on financial data and then select financial variable and create query.
For example to get stocks whose Net Sale is increased by 20%. The formula will be Netsales[0] > NetSales[-4] * 1.2
This formula will give you all stocks whose net sale is increased by at least 20% Note: all financial variable result is shown in term of quarters. So NetSales[0] means current quarter’s netsale. Netsales[-1] means netsales of one quarter before this quarter. Netsales[-4] means netsales of stock 1 year before for same quarter. To get full year’s NetSale you should add all four quarter
14) How can I change color setting ?
Click on Configure->Setting-->GraphProperties and then You can change configuration parameter according to your requirement.
15)I am not getting data before year 2005 . I would like to see 10 years or more in my chart.
Click on Configure->Setting-->TimeSetting-->Start Date and update it. (This feature is only for IGS Global).
What is DataManager and what does it do ?
DataManger is the utility to download data from internet and cache it in memory so that software can perform all scan faster. DataManager creates multiple threads for faster downloading . You must use this utility before using any scan otherwise software will hang as it will download data one by one. DataManager works on a single category at a time and left stocks which are already been downloaded. DataManager caches some days data(start from value of Screen Date parameter) in memory. This data is used for all scan, strategy compare or filters. you can change your configuration parameter . Screen Date is he parameter which you can set it up to change caching strategy
I would like to manage symbols myself how can I do it ?
iGuideStocks manages indexes and map stock code to its name using two files called allsymbol.txt and indexsymbol.txt in installation directory(which is igsentindia for india and igsentglobal for global). You need to open those files are add your new stock code with name in allsymbol.txt file and if you want to add stock to a particular category then update index.txt file

I am getting intraday data from third party will I be able to run intraday chart in iGuideStocks (For IGS Global)?
In iGuideStocks you can ran intraday charts if you have data from third party. To do so you need to follow following process
1) setup your third party vendor to feed data as a csv file by same name as you mentioned in intraday directory
2) the format of your data must be Time (must me in hh:mm:ss ),open,high,low,close,volume . iguidestocks can internally handle to convert data in 1 min to 100 min format.
3)change refresh parameter(intraDayUpdateTime) using setting option to millisecond you want. Bydefault it is 5000.
4)click on intraday icon and intraday chart will display
My data is still showing last days data today’s data is not coming (For IGS Global)?
iguidestocks follow following process in downloading data. First it checks the date of the file stored in data directory for that symbol. It matches with current time. If date is not same then it downloads fresh copy of data and save it in data directory. If date is same and there is gap of hours specified in parameter downloadHourGap then software will download data again
what does delete all data option do (For IGS Global)?
if some how you are experience that your data is not updating then click this and it will delete all data from data directory so that software can download fresh data.
what does stop downloading data from internet/start downloading data from internet do (For IGS Global)?
Using this option you can control the software to go to internet for fetching latest data or to stop it fetching data from internet.
I have written my function I want to use it in my other functions how can I do ?
In order to use your function. after writing function same it in library or function directory of IGS installation directory and you are ready to go. Also make sure in those directories only .fl exist delete all other files.
I am writing formula but after saving all data converted in upper case .
iguidestocks converts to upeer case whole formula and then do processing so even though you have written is mixed case internally iguidestocks treat it in upper case so all comments you will always see in upper case.
I am new to iguidestocks how should I proceed ?
1) first of all read iguidestocks help document for each panel and get familiar with it
2) click on setting and open configuration file and read it so that you can change configuration parameter according to your requirement
3) read document on iguidestocks formula language and try to do some exercise
4) open old formulas and see how they are written
5) we have arranged some trainings you can mail us to request us to arrange training in your town if we find enough people we will arrange training in your town
6) click on resource section and read presentations which were presented and you will get very good help in understanding software and can go in depth in software.
How to configure Intraday Data Source(IGS India) ?
iGuideStocks supports live data feed for Indian Stock Market. iGuideStock supports 3 different data sources for live data feed. To change data feed do following Configure->Setting->UrlAndLocation->Intraday Data Source. 1)YAHOOSOURCE --> yahoo provides live data feed for all Nifty stocks. To use it you need to log in to Yahoo. If you have selected this option then first setup your yahoo credential and login to yahoo. Click on Configure->Login to Yahoo. Make sure that your mail box is using Yahoo classic otherwise it will not work. If everything is fine then after logging in you will get message stating Logged in to Yahoo. If using yahoo check out if the time setting is correct as yahoo display EST . To set this parameter update Yahoo Hour Difference. By default the hour difference is 9 hours ( 30 minutes are already been added). Yahoo data is nearly realtime 2)SOURCE1-> This source will display 1 minute delay data without volume and also used to backfill data when you use YAHOOSOURCE or SOURCE2. 3)SOURCE2 -- This will display live data , like terminal. Only Nifty stocks are included in the list. To auto update intraday day graph set Auto Update Intraday Graph setting in TimeSetting option.
When I tried to download S&P 500 . The download hangs after 300-400 stock, what should I do ?
Download Manager downloads data and keep it in memory . when you try to download a large list like S& P 500 then it consume a lot of memory. and Memory Out of Bocx exception occures. When you download data data is downloaded from screendate to current date in memory. So if you increase screendate parameter and try to keep it as near as current date then it will load a minimal data in memnory. Most of of indicator requires around 30-40 bar max for doing calculation you try to keep screendate parameter as near to 2 month before current date . The another solution is to increase memnory heap size if your computer has 1G or higher memory to do so open run.bat file and change Xms512m -Xmx512m to Xms1024m -Xmx1024m
When I open IGSIndia I see data is not showing for last day EOD , what should I do or How to update EOD data in IGSIndia?
IGSIndia software automatically update EOD data in background, whenever you start software. It takes 2-3 minutes to download and update all files. You suppose to click 2-3 differnt graphs after starting software and after 3 minutes. You will updated data on your graph
